Finally, there was daylight, and the river sounded the way it should. It wouldn't burn in her ears as a toxic liquid would her throat. It sounded gentle, calming.. maybe even peaceful. How strange was that? The world was falling around her, but she still had time, and she still had a place to relax. Of course, she wasn't alone. Now she had someone who wasn't going to leave her, who wasn't going to push her away.. someone who wouldn't die on her. She had Glenn.
Violet was laying on the mossy floor, her shoes right on the edge of the river, the occasional droplet jumping onto them. Her eyes were staring up at the soft sky, a gentle smile on her lips.
After chopping through some meat-munchers, the two could finally rest, their packs of goodies laying beside them. The river had quenched their thirst, and refreshed them. They'd cupped some of it's water with their rough hands, raising it to their lips and sucking it all in.. and then Violet picked some up with her hands, pouring it down onto his head while he wasn't paying attention. All he did in return was splash her. Afterwards, they cleansed their faces and soaked their hair before plopping down in silence.
After a few moments, she broke the silence, humming softly. Then when her tune came to a certain part, the words slipped past her lips. "If all you want are answers to your questions, and you can't seem to find no love.. for free..~", she sang, closing her eyes now as she continued, "If you're looking for the right direction.. then darling.. look.. for me..~". Her eyes opened and she turned her head to look at him, Violet's smile growing. "See I can make the load much lighter.. I just need you to confide in me..~"
